Bereavement Charity 2wish Opens New Office with Dedicated Support Spaces for Grieving Families

Welsh bereavement charity 2wish has officially opened the doors to its new headquarters in Ynysmaerdy, unveiling a purpose-designed facility aimed at enhancing support for families who have lost a child or young person under the age of 25.

After years of operating from its base in Magden Park, Llantrisant, 2wish has relocated to a more spacious and accessible premises on Sterling Drive. The move marks a significant milestone for the organisation, enabling it to meet increasing demand for its services while offering a more comforting environment for grieving families.

One of the standout features of the new site is a specially designed family room, created as a private and compassionate space for parents and relatives to speak with 2wish professionals. The room is intended to offer a calm, respectful setting where individuals facing unimaginable loss can receive emotional and practical support in confidence.

The premises also feature a landscaped garden—an area of quiet reflection and peace, designed to bring comfort during the most challenging times. Both staff and visitors are encouraged to use the garden as a space for relaxation, contemplation, or simply to take a moment in nature.

Speaking about the move, Rhian Mannings, CEO and founder of 2wish, shared her deep personal connection to the charity’s new location:

“We are absolutely thrilled to have the keys to our new office and to be able to offer a fresh and welcoming environment for our families. What makes this move even more special is that we are now located next to Little Inspirations nursery in Llantrisant, where my son, George, attended before his sudden passing in 2012. From my new office window, I can see ‘Georgie’s Den,’ the play area dedicated to George’s memory, which means the world to me.”

She continued:

“The connection between 2wish and Little Inspirations is incredibly meaningful. Janine Gill, the company director at Little Inspirations, is a Business Ambassador for 2wish, and to be so close to the nursery where George spent part of his early years is truly special. It feels like a full-circle moment, and I’m incredibly grateful to have this proximity to both the charity’s work and the place that holds such personal significance.

“The new location in Sterling Drive offers improved facilities, increased space for the team, and a more accessible area for families seeking support. With the addition of the family room and garden, 2wish is able to enhance the care and services it provides to grieving families across Wales.”

The charity, founded in 2012, has grown into a vital support network for bereaved families, offering counselling, peer support, and crisis assistance. The move to Ynysmaerdy forms part of 2wish’s broader mission to ensure that no family faces the sudden loss of a child or young person alone.
