Christmas has come early for a local primary school after a Newport housebuilder made a special donation to help purchase new playground equipment.
Redrow South Wales, which is currently building new homes at The Cedars at Great Milton Park, on Hen Chwarel Drive, presented Llanmartin Primary School with £500 towards new outside play equipment.
The generous donation will go towards a new outdoor wooden climbing frame. The pupils at Llanmartin Primary School have been tasked to design their dream outdoor equipment. Once a design has been chosen, the supplier will begin crafting and bring the magic to their playtimes.
This donation is one of many donations the housebuilder has made during 2025, as part of its commitment to supporting local areas and organisations that allow both old and new residents – of all ages, to thrive.
Vicky Curtis, Headteacher at Llanmartin Primary School, said: “A huge thank you to Redrow South Wales for the donation to our school collection for outdoor equipment. Once designed by pupils and then built by the supplier, we know that all our pupils will have happy hours playing on this equipment. With school budgets so tight, projects like this would not be possible without school donations.”
Sian Smith, Sales Director of Barratt David Wilson Redrow South Wales, said: “Across Barratt Redrow, we are committed to creating thriving communities – not just on the developments we are building on, but for existing residents, businesses and groups which make Newport a great place to live.
“We’re delighted to be helping Llanmartin Primary School fund its new outdoor play equipment. Creating safe, inspiring spaces for children to play and learn is at the heart of every thriving community, and we’re thrilled to play a part in bringing new outdoor play equipment to the school.
“We’re sure the new space will be a place where pupils can explore, grow, and make amazing memories for years to come.”
