Bridgend to Talbot Green bus service to continue on an hourly basis

The Bridgend to Talbot Green bus service (No. 65) will continue to run on an hourly basis following the retender of the council’s supported bus services contract.

Starting from Monday 04 September, the service will be operated by Adventure Travel and the route will now include a stop in Parc Derwen (Heol Stradling) as well as passing through many areas of the county borough including Wildmill, Litchard, Bryncethin, Heol-Y-Cyw, Penprysg and Pencoed.

For a short period, the service will also be free of charge, whilst awaiting approval from the Office of the Traffic Commissioner.

Cllr John Spanswick, Cabinet Member for Climate Change and the Environment, said: “It’s really pleasing that the Bridgend to Talbot Green route will continue to be operated on an hourly basis and this been made possible thanks to joint funding from the Council and Welsh Government’s Bus Transition Fund.

“As part of our commitment to the environment, I would also like to take this opportunity to encourage residents to consider bus travel as a regular means of transport.”
