Child of Wales Awards 2024 Unveils Prestigious Judging Panel

The upcoming Child of Wales Awards 2024, set for September 27 at Swansea Arena, remains dedicated to honouring the remarkable accomplishments and resilience of young individuals throughout Wales. This prestigious occasion has revealed its distinguished judging panel, featuring outstanding figures recognised for their impactful contributions in diverse domains.

From the world of sport, the judging panel includes Shane Williams MBE, a former Welsh rugby union player widely regarded as one of the greatest wingers in rugby history, and Sir Gareth Edwards, another legendary former Welsh rugby player considered one of the greatest players of all time.

From the world of broadcasting and entertainment, the panel includes Owain Wyn Evans, a broadcaster and meteorologist known for his work on BBC Wales and BBC Radio 1, alongside Ruth Dodsworth, an award-winning journalist and presenter with an extensive career in broadcasting. Mark Jermin, an esteemed actor, director, and founder of the Mark Jermin Management & Theatre School, also brings his expertise to the panel.

Representing public life, the judging panel features The Hon. Dr Stuart Lawrence, a prominent figure dedicated to promoting social justice and equality, and Pepe Hart, a former head teacher and winner of the Pride of Britain Teacher of the Year Award. Additionally, Rhianon Bailey, an accomplished entrepreneur and philanthropist dedicated to making a positive impact in Wales, and Blanche Sainsbury, the founder of the Child of Wales Awards, contribute their insights and expertise.
