Delicious meal at Prezzo in the St David’s centre, Cardiff.

We visited Prezzo in St David’s Centre, Cardiff on Monday 27th October as a family of five — myself, my husband, and our three children — and had such a lovely experience from start to finish!

The restaurant had a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the staff were so friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed (no small task with three excited kids, who spilled two drinks!).

For food, I had the humous and breadsticks, with a main dish of Chicken Marsala and a side of parmesan broccoli stems, which was absolutely delicious — the chicken was tender, and the mushroom and garlic cream sauce was rich and full of flavour. My husband went for the meatballs for starters and main of Meat lovers pizza – Prezzo three meat special, spicy pepperoni, chicken, smoked pancetta, mozzarella and rich tomato sauce, which he said was perfectly cooked with just the right balance of toppings and crispness.

The children were thrilled with their meals too! The team went above and beyond with the Gabby’s Dollhouse promotion — the kids’ pizzas were shaped like cats, which made them so happy. They also shared a spaghetti Bolognese, which they devoured in minutes (always a good sign!).

The children were presented with a colouring sheet, crayons, a Gabbys Dollshouse headband with ears on and 3d glasses.

Desert was absolutely amazing, I enjoyed an oven-baked chocolate cookie dough with chunks of chocolate chips, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce, shared with my youngest daughter. My husband had Sticky Toffee pudding- which is exactly what it said on the menu, a luxurious sponge in warm caramel butterscotch sauce served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The children enjoyed doughnut balls with sprinkles and warm chocolate sauce (and a sneaky mouthful of my ice cream).

It was one of those meals where everyone left smiling — great food, lovely staff, and a really fun, family-friendly atmosphere.

The restaurant is beautifully designed, with warm lighting, elegant décor, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes everyone feel at home. The cozy seating areas, outdoor space, upstairs level seating and cheerful colours create a relaxing space perfect for both casual meals and special occasions. It’s also very family-friendly—there’s plenty of space for groups, a kid’s menu full of favourites, and friendly staff who go out of their way to make sure everyone, from toddlers to grandparents, has a great time. My children were particularly fascinated by the pizza oven, asking questions to the chef and enjoying every minute of watching, and the chef did not mind at all.

Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or a long family dinner, it’s the kind of place where great food and good memories come together.

We’ll definitely be returning soon. Thank you, Prezzo Cardiff, for making our Monday night feel special!
