Organisers of Wales’ biggest light trail have hidden some tickets in family-friendly hotspots around Cardiff for a fun festive adventure
Christmas at Bute Park has teamed up with some of Cardiff’s top family attractions to launch a Golden Ticket hunt to win one family ticket in each venue to the festive illuminations.
The hunt will kick of this Saturday at 9am (November 15th) with a special golden family ticket hidden in the following venues:
- National Museum Cardiff
- Cardiff Story Museum
- voco St David’s Hotel
- Everyman Theatre
- Cardiff Castle
- Cardiff Central Library
All you have to do is find where the ticket is hiding, post a pic to @xmasatbutepark and you can win an unforgettable night beneath the lights.*
Roxy Robinson, Event Director at From the Fields, the team behind Christmas at Bute Park, said: “With the opening of Christmas at Bute Park just around the corner, we’re excited to team up with some of Cardiff’s most-loved family-friendly venues and give families the chance to have some fun with a festive treasure hunt with a fantastic prize at the end of it.
“As we celebrate our fifth year here in Cardiff, we are looking forward to bringing all new installations and a new route to make sure visitors continue to enjoy the festive trail as well as delicious food from local traders and, of course, the Bute Park Tavern. We hope families enjoying hunting for a ticket, which, if you find it, will guarantee a lovely twinkly night.”
With more than 104,000 tickets sold in 2024, Christmas at Bute Park launches on Friday, November 21st for its fifth annual outing, bringing more than five weeks of festive magic with it.
Visitors are in for a spectacular display at the award-winning event, with a re-imagined route of all new installations created by a selection of world-class artists and designers on offer in 2025. Look out for new installations including Water Willow, Icefall, Crystal Avenue and Yuletide Magic – a gorgeous tree projection of magical sparkle, inspired by pixie dust soaring around the trees.
Foodies can explore the array of street food on offer with delicious treats from local traders, as well as the Bute Park Tavern – the cosy heated Alpine wooded cabin where you can sit back and enjoy a drink in the twinkling surroundings.
This year’s traders include Cattle Co. Burgers, Hash & Dash, Frico Pizza & Loaded Fries, Daddy Mac’s, Oh My Sausage, Let’s Wrap Fried Chicken, Chocomelt Station and Crumble Pots.
There will also be coffee stalls, bars serving a range of hot and cold drinks and vintage fairground rides.
