6 October 2025 – Cardiff, Wales
Cardiff Airport has announced the appointment of Jon Bridge as its new Chief Executive Officer, with his role officially beginning on 3 November 2025.
Jon brings with him over 30 years of leadership experience across the retail, hospitality, and transport sectors, including his tenure as CEO of SA Brain & Co, where he guided the Welsh brewery and hospitality business through major transformation and the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Since March 2025, Jon has also served in an advisory capacity at board level within the Welsh transport sector, contributing to wider discussions on connectivity and infrastructure.
He takes the helm at a significant moment for Cardiff Airport, as it continues to strengthen its position as the National Airport of Wales and a key driver of economic growth and international links.
Commenting on his appointment, Jon Bridge said:
“I’m honoured to be joining Cardiff Airport at such a pivotal time. The National Airport of Wales is a vital asset for our country, providing economic benefits, jobs and ensuring global connectivity. We are striving to be the first choice for airline passengers and the centre of Wales’ aviation-related industry. I’ll be working hard with our team and partners to continue diversifying the business, driving growth, developing our people and ensuring we continue to provide an excellent experience for our customers.”
The airport’s current Interim CEO, Andy Jones, who has been in post since March, will now return to his position as a Non-Executive Director on Cardiff Airport’s Board.
The Cardiff Airport team has welcomed the appointment, expressing confidence that Jon’s extensive leadership experience will help drive the airport’s next phase of development and growth.
