Whitchurch Heath Cricket Club has welcomed Julian Davies Opticians as a new club sponsor for the 2025 season, with the support enabling the club to buy vital new wicket covers for its Hospital Ground pitch.
Julian Davies Opticians, which has seven practices across South Wales including Whitchurch village, has been providing expert eye care and a wide range of designer and NHS frames for over 30 years.
Known for their friendly, independent service and clinical excellence, the practice has built a loyal local following, and is committed to supporting the wellbeing of the wider community.
This new partnership is part of the club’s broader mission to strengthen ties with local businesses who share its values and vision.
Peter Bryon, Chair of Whitchurch-Heath Cricket Club, said:
“We’re delighted to welcome Julian Davies Opticians on board as a new sponsor. Their generous support has helped us purchase new covers for the Hospital Ground, a crucial investment that ensures more games can go ahead, whatever the weather. Local business partnerships like this are key to our long-term success.”
Chris Tannorella, Managing Director of Julian Davies Opticians, added:
“As a long-standing part of the community, we’re proud to support Whitchurch-Heath Cricket Club. The club plays a big role in bringing people together, especially young players, and we’re pleased to help them improve their facilities and continue doing great work. We look forward to a successful partnership both on and off the field.”
Whitchurch-Heath Cricket Club continues to welcome interest from local businesses looking to support grassroots sport and community development, as well as new players for both the senior teams and the junior section.
