Ocean Colour Scene announced for New Year’s Eve extravaganza at Tramshed

This special bash in Cardiff also lines up DJ sets from Creation Records legend, Alan McGee, and Ocean Colour Scene’s Steve Craddock.

Cardiff’s premiere music venue, Tramshed, has announced that the iconic Ocean Colour Scene will play a full live band set on New Year’s Eve. It promises to be an epic night of music and celebration when Ocean Colour Scene take centre stage, together bidding a farewell to 2023 and welcoming in the New Year with like-minded revellers.

With a back catalogue of hits including ‘The Day We Caught the Train’, ‘River Boat Song’ and ‘Hundred Mile High City’, Ocean Colour Scene are set to deliver an electrifying performance to make this a New Year’s Eve to remember.

Looking forward to event, frontman Simon Fowler said, “Our very special New Year’s Eve show in Cardiff will be the last night of our UK tour. It was hard keeping it a secret, especially when so many people wanted to know why our tour didn’t include a date in Wales – but now you know! We’re gonna make a proper night of it, saying Hello to 2024 in fine style. See you there!”

Creation Records legend, Alan McGee, will also be in the mix, sharing his vast musical knowledge when he takes to the turntables. As the man behind the discovery of some of the most influential artists in British music history, Alan McGee’s DJ set will be a guaranteed musical journey through the decades of indie, and one not to be missed.

And that’s not all. Ocean Colour Scene’s very own guitarist, Steve Cradock, will also be DJing, playing a mix of northern soul and indie along with DJs from the renowned indie club night, Propaganda, keeping the party going until 2am.

Craddock added, “Not played in Wales for a long time, so to be in Cardiff on New Year’s Eve’s gonna be a corker. Plus I’m DJing after our OCS show, so double whammy! All my family and friends will be there so it’s gonna be a great night and a fun way to see in 2024 with them and the Welsh contingency.”

This New Year’s event will be the final date of Ocean Colour’s Scene’s UK tour, which starts in Bournemouth on 3rd December. The band hasn’t played a stand-alone date in Cardiff since 2003 when they supported The Stereophonics at The Principality Stadium, so a roadblock is expected at Tramshed!

The huge, Grade II listed Tramshed with its capacity of 1,000 will be the ultimate setting to let loose with mates, raise a glass and dance until the Compeeds fall off.

For those wanting to elevate their night further, exclusive VIP tickets are available. Ticket holders will get access to the venue an hour early to secure their spot on the floor, a welcome drink on arrival and access to a private VIP bar all night long.

General sale tickets start at £55 and VIP tickets are priced from £75. All tickets can be purchased from  https://tourlink.to/OCSTicketsNYE.
