This Is Not Just Any Store… M&S Llanishen Unveils Major investment With Fresh New Look For Customers

M&S Llanishen, Cardiff opened its doors yesterday, unveiling a brand-new look for customers, with Store Manager, Rose Baldwin, joined by guest of honour Percy Pig cutting the ribbon to declare the new-look store officially open.

Customers were invited to explore the bigger, better, fresher Foodhall and meet local Welsh suppliers, whose brilliant products are featured in M&S stores across the UK, with samples of whisky, Brecon gin and tonics from Penderyn, alongside Welsh Butter with Halon Sea Salt from Castle Dairies enjoyed by many.

The newly improved M&S Llanishen store features a new fresh-market feel. Highlights include displays brimming with great quality and trusted value produce from M&S Select Farmers, a show-stopping new bakery with freshly baked bread and pastries throughout the day – including the new Collection Sourdough (made using a traditional 30-hour process) – as well as the famous, exclusive-to-M&S Yumnuts™, and a dedicated M&S Wine Shop featuring an award-winning selection of popular favourites in the M&S Classics range, and new varieties to discover from unexpected locations in the “Found” range.

And with a wide range of M&S Remarksable products – including Super Soft sliced bread, RSPCA Assured fresh milk, and beef mince from trusted M&S Select Farmers – the new Foodhall will deliver great quality and trusted value for local customers.

In addition, there are new digital Click and Collect points, increased self-service tills and an expanded frozen section – all making the shopping experience more convenient for local families.

Rose Baldwin, Store Manager at M&S Llanishen said: “Our whole team has been working really hard to deliver this fantastic new look for M&S Llanishen and it’s been great to hear from customers today how much they love all the new additions like our fantastic new bakery. When you visit the store, you’ll find a new spacious design across our Foodhall with great features like our new M&S Wine Shop and our digital Click & Collect service which are all designed to make shopping with us more enjoyable and more convenient than ever. 

“We’d also like to thank our suppliers Penderyn Whisky and Castle Dairies for coming along with products to make this day extra special for customers.” 

 As part of the opening celebration, Percy Pig was on-hand to welcome shoppers to the new store as the team handed out 200 golden tickets to the first customers through the door. Every golden ticket holder was guaranteed a win, whether it was a free bag of Percy Pigs or freshly baked cookies from the M&S bakery, and to mark the occasion one lucky customer won a £200 M&S voucher!

The top-to-bottom transformation of the store, is the latest investment that M&S has made in its stores and represents a significant investment in the Welsh economy. The store improvements come following the retailer’s recent announcement that it plans to invest c.£500 million in its store rotation programme, creating over 3400 new jobs nationwide.
