Burrito fans, cancel your dinner plans: what’s fast becoming a National Burrito Day ritual, Tortilla’s Big Burrito Giveaway, is back for its third year. On Thursday 2nd April, Tortilla, the UKs most loved Mexican restaurant, will be handing out 15,000 free burritos to Burrito Society members, from 3pm.
Last year’s giveaway saw thousands queue nationwide, driving a surge in app downloads and viral moments across social media. This year, Tortilla is continuing the momentum, giving away over 7.5 metric tonnes of burritos to hungry fans across the country, so whether you’re a chicken asado purist, vegan chilli devotee, or a pork carnitas fiend, your free burrito is just a few clicks away.
The rules are simple: just download the Tortilla app and follow the steps to create a Burrito Society account. All members will get their free burrito perk automatically added to their account on the day, so customers can just to head to the nearest participating Tortilla restaurant armed with the app to redeem for any medium burrito, bowl, or salad – guac, cheese sauce and chorizo add-ons included. The giveaway will commence from 3pm but we’d advise arriving a little earlier to beat the queues.
Known for big, generously filled burritos and bowls made fresh to order with quality ingredients prepped daily and packed with flavour, Tortilla delivers fully customisable food in under 90 seconds that actually satisfies. And that appeal is translating into serious momentum, with the brand hitting number one on the Apple App Store and driving over 60,000 downloads in the run-up to last year’s giveaway.
At the centre of it all is Burrito Society, Tortilla’s loyalty programme, rewarding loyal customers for every purchase. Every main earns a stamp – unlocking free guac after two and a free main after five – plus a steady stream of perks including size upgrades, free toppings, double stamps and early access to new menu drops.
So, rally your mates, grab your phone, and join the celebration: with 15,000 burritos up for grabs nationwide, the feast waits for no one.
Brandon Stephens, Group CEO at Tortilla, said:
“National Burrito Day has become a huge moment for us and our community. After the response last year, bringing back the Big Burrito Giveaway for a third year felt like a no-brainer – it’s our way of saying thanks, and giving more fans a taste of what we do best: big, fresh, fully customisable burritos.”
The National Burrito Day giveaway will run for one day only, on Thursday 2nd April, at all Tortilla locations nationwide, while stocks last. For more information, including T&Cs, please visit our website.
