Hazlewoods has been ranked among the leading corporate finance advisers in Wales after climbing to 4th place in the Welsh deal volume rankings in the latest Experian MarketIQ M&A Report 2025.
The Welsh performance forms part of a landmark year for the firm nationally, with Hazlewoods securing a Top 5 UK position for M&A activity based on deal volume. The firm was ranked the fourth most active financial adviser in the UK after supporting 142 completed transactions with a combined value of more than £1.3 billion, its strongest 12-month performance to date.
In Wales, Hazlewoods’ rise from 10th to 4th place reflects significant growth in activity and an expanding presence in the region, underpinned by its Cardiff office and increasing deal flow across key Welsh sectors. The improvement highlights the firm’s deepening commitment to the Welsh market and its growing role in advising entrepreneurs, business owners and investors on strategic transactions.
The latest league tables also demonstrate Hazlewoods’ strong regional footprint across the South West and Wales. Twenty-seven per cent of all deals completed during 2025 were in the South West, where the firm ranked 3rd, alongside its top-four Welsh ranking, regions that continue to attract substantial UK and international investment.
Nationally, the Top 5 UK position further strengthens Hazlewoods’ profile as a high-performing, strategically focused adviser operating at the upper end of the UK mid-market. The results reinforce the firm’s reputation for delivering high-quality corporate finance advice across a diverse range of sectors, while maintaining strong regional relationships.
The Experian MarketIQ rankings are widely regarded as a benchmark of M&A activity, tracking adviser performance based on completed transaction volumes across the UK.
The combined Welsh and UK results position Hazlewoods as one of the most active and influential corporate finance advisers operating in Wales today, while also demonstrating its growing impact on the national stage.
John Lucas, Hazlewoods M&A Partner, commented: “Our national footprint is expanding, and our presence across multiple UK regions continues to strengthen. This ranking marks more than a successful year – it demonstrates the momentum we’re building alongside ambitious clients who are investing, innovating, and driving growth in every corner of the UK.”
Richard Dade, Hazlewoods Transaction Services Partner, added: “This also reflects the depth of expertise within our growing team, now more than 50 corporate finance specialists advising across high growth sectors including health and social care, financial and professional services, education, legal, dental, veterinary, technology, and industrials to name a few.
“Our sector breadth and technical capability enable us to support clients through increasingly complex transactions with an end-to-end service offering, delivering high quality advice and outcomes.”
