Commemorating the Parc Slip disaster
An underground explosion and it’s devastating impact killed 112 local men and boys at the Park Slip colliery on 26th August 1892.
Every year, on the anniversary of the disaster, members of the local communities come together to commemorate the loss, with a short public service, held at the memorial at Parc Slip nature reserve.
Join the service this Saturday, 26th August, it is always held at about 8.15am, at the approximate time of the explosion. All are welcome.
